Drew Robertson (she/her) – Editor-in-Chief
Drew Robertson is a senior at Mercer double majoring in journalism and creative writing and minoring in English. When she’s not doing schoolwork, she can be found giving tours of campus, having a movie night with friends, or curled up reading a book. She has worked with The Dulcimer for three years as a general staff member and as the copy editor, and she is so excited to serve as The Dulcimer’s EiC in its 56th year. She is passionate about creating a comfortable space for Mercer students and faculty to showcase their creative works and a community in which her staff can make this year’s magazine awesome. Upon graduation, she hopes to attend an MFA program in creative writing fiction and pursue a career in academia or publishing.
Samantha Homcy (she/her) – Literary Submissions Editor
Samantha is a senior at Mercer and is majoring in Journalism and Criminal Justice. She is very excited to be a Literary Submissions Editor this year. This is her fourth year as a member of The Dulcimer’s staff, and she has previously served as Social Media Editor and a member of the literary committee. She enjoys music, traveling, and finding new shows to watch. Samantha is passionate about writing and storytelling and looks forward to getting to know Mercer’s literary talent.
Sarah Cunningham (she/her) – Literary Submissions Editor
Sarah Cunningham is a junior at Mercer, double majoring in Marketing and Graphic Design. She has been a part of the Dulcimer since her freshman year. She is looking forward to continuing her position as Literary Submissions Editor for a second year as well as working with the rest of The Dulcimer Staff.
Sydney Walker (she/they) – Art Submissions Editor
Sydney Walker is a Senior double majoring in graphic design and studio arts and minoring in marketing. She worked on The Dulcimer staff her sophomore year and is happy to be back as the Art Submission Editor! Sydney has always loved trying new mediums of art, but can usually be found painting, whether on paper or in Photoshop. Outside of artistic pursuits, her simple pleasures include a Zbeans coffee, walking her dog, and reading a good book in the park.
Rachel Bowdler – Lead Designer

Rachel-Kate Bowdler is majoring in Political Science & Global Development. Designing is like going to sleep; it’s not easy.
Oneeka Kohli (she/her) – Social Media Editor
Oneeka Kohli is a third year student at Mercer University where she is triple-majoring in Spanish, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on the Pre-Med track. When she is not doing schoolwork, she is found in some corner of her room curled up and reading a book, watching television or helping around campus in some way! She also loves spending time with her friends and family! Oneeka is super excited to work for The Dulcimer again and hopes to grow and learn so much more!
Ethan Widener – Digital Archivist
Ethan Widener is a fourth-year student at Mercer University majoring in computer science and minoring in mathematics. He is The Dulcimer’s Digital Archivist, handling the technical side of the magazine and ensuring that each edition is preserved for posterity. When he is not spending his time programming, he can often be found with a book in hand. He looks forward to utilizing his skill set on another edition of The Dulcimer.
Allison Whitehead (she/her) – General Staff
Allison Whitehead is a senior double majoring in Law & Public Policy and Economics. Her literary work has been published in plain china, Laurel Moon Magazine, Deep South Magazine, and Cumberland River Review, as well as the last three editions of The Dulcimer. A native of Tennessee, she enjoys reading and writing Southern stories. In her fourth year on the literary staff, she’s excited to help other Mercer students cultivate their passions for writing.
Jacob Mack (he/him) – General Staff
Jacob Mack is a senior majoring in Secondary Education in English and minoring in Creative Writing and Religion. This is his second year as a member of The Dulcimer staff. His main hobbies include writing both fiction and poetry. He is also a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and the America Reads, America Counts tutoring program.
Thomas Neely – General Staff
Thomas Anthony Neely is a junior at Mercer University completing his BBA in Marketing and Creative Writing. Thomas’ hobbies include reading, writing, photography, video games, and whatever he can get his hands on to pass the time. Recently, Thomas has discovered a love of travel and exploring since his first time abroad studying in the UK at the University of Essex in Colchester. Thomas is currently studying at Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan. Thomas looks forward to seeing new and familiar faces at Mercer in spring.
Emma Teng: (she/her) – General Staff
Emma is a first-year student double-majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and General Business on the Pre-med Track. She loves writing poetry and performing spoken word and hopes to share that passion for art and literature with others while working with The Dulcimer. When she’s not studying in the library, you can find her curled up with tea and a book, rewatching Studio Ghibli movies with friends, or spending time at the animal shelter.
Ophelia Jones (they/them) – General Staff
Devin is a second year double major in English and Women and Gender Studies. They spend their time either watching video essays or reading queer science fiction like Gideon the Ninth and This is How You Lose the Time War. They have experience helping to create and edit stories from working in their school’s film club. This is their first year on The Dulcimer’s staff and are excited to be on the literary committee.
Stephania Lopez (she/her) – General Staff
Stephania Lopez is a junior double majoring in English and history. She enjoys exploring creative outlets like writing and crocheting. Alongside her extensive love for reading, Stephania spends time with her friends and finds humor in every aspect of life. Post-graduation, she is interested in a career as a book editor at a publishing house. This is Stephania’s first year with The Dulcimer and she looks forward to helping writers, artists, and photographers get their work out into the world.
Alesa Hill (they/them) – General Staff
Alesa Hill is a first-year student majoring in Biology and minoring in Public Health. When Alesa isn’t reading whatever book they can get their hands on, they’re probably adding another title to their endless to-read list, roller skating, or researching Hanfu online. Alesa is excited to work on The Dulcimer and is committed to learning as much as they can this year!
Maret McWhorter (they/them) – General Staff
Maret is a freshman Creative Writing major but is considering English or Technical Communications as a double major. They’ve been published in three editions of The Globe (both literary and visual submission)and awarded Best Short Story from the Georgia Scholastic Press association last year. On the side, they work at a non-profit for the Milton Library and destroy their brother in Tetris.
Tamaya Morrison (she/her) – General Staff
Tamaya Morrison is a current freshman with hopes to study history, anthropology, and art at Mercer. Her favorite things to do when not doing work or creating art are to hang with friends, listen to music, and spend time with her pet Labrador, Chubb!
